Here’s a fun cooking show that I had the pleasure of producing and filming, called Café Janae. Janae Devika is a Utah-based nutrition and cooking expert. She has a background in nursing, and has been teaching health food cooking classes for years. She wanted to reach a wider audience by utilizing the internet. She is launching the 10 episodes that we filmed over the next couple of weeks. The cooking show is a 100% free way to get some of the same instruction you would get if you went to some of her live classes.
We filmed at the Bosch Kitchen Center in Orem, Utah. The setup was fairly simple: a Canon T2i (550D) and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II (which has proven to be a very effective lens for video as it is nice and sharp and even at 1080p you’re only talking 2MP of resolution per frame), a 3-light Impact Lighting Kit, and a wireless lavalier microphone. I ran the XLR out from the receiver into the T2i with a XLR-to-1/8th inch adapter. We had a little bit of an issue at the Bosch Kitchen Center due to a noisy air conditioner that liked to come on mostly when we were filming (pesky little thing). Other than than the shoot went very well, and the food was delicious! Needless to say, I gladly volunteered when help was needed eating the prepared dishes.
Here’s a sneak peak at some of the tasty dishes you’ll learn to make if you watch Janae’s upcoming videos. For more info and more free stuff, go to www.cafejanae.com.
